FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Parker Storm
Damage
Parker Tech Center closed
7-1-2003 -- The Parker Community Technology Center building
was damaged during a strong tornado and wind storm which necessitated the
temporary close of the facility. The Turner County Printing and Stationery
building which housed the Tech Center equipment and products for public access
and computer services, sustained major structural damage to the front of the
building, tearing away the outside and top portions of the structure. The
owner of the building, Mari Renner, commented that it was a blessing that no one
was injured or that more damage was not done to the building.
The SeniorNet Training operations are being moved into the old nursing home
facility and will continue under the direction of the Center for Active
Generations SeniorNet Program. An instructor and equipment will be
provided for this operation.
Services of the Tech Center for bench repairs, computer products, and
computer training classes will be temporarily suspended until a decision about a
suitable facility can be made. Chamley Enterprises will continue to
advertise and provide on-site computer repair and networking services to the
community. Current clients and new customers should call 800-776-1107 for
assistance.
Doug Chamley, Director of the Dell Rapids Community Technology Center and
Co-Owner of Chamley Enterprises stated that he would not be re-opening
the Technology Center for Parker however, services and products will still be
available via the Tech Center in Dell Rapids.
