Tech Center Takes on New Look

Tropical designs are in the horizon!

3-01-2006 -- The Dell Rapids Community Technology Center has found a new location. After consideration of the need for more space to provide a wider range of products and services, Owners, Doug & Tara Chamley have started renovation of a larger building just east of their current location.

The decision to change locations was a tough one since they have been in the current location for more than 7 years. Their current location affords the great visibility and easy access needed to get in and out. However, the need to expand outweighs the need for visibility.

With the recent plans for reconstruction of Main Street, access to all the downtown businesses will prove challenging to pedestrians and motorists. The move to 418 E 4th Street would put them in the middle of the block and a lot further into street construction. They will postpone the physical change of location until the street construction is finished.

Once completed with their renovations and moved, the Tech Center will provide additional services for refreshments, books and other retail items of a tropical nature.

The Tech Center will also be changing it's name to Riley's Paradise Island.
