Doug's Thoughts

My life has taken me many places and I have heard many opinions about God, the Bible and what I should and shouldn't do.  I have spent countless hours studying the Bible and a vast array of support materials sorting out those thoughts and convictions which speak truth to my heart.  I have spent a lifetime praying and asking the Lord for His wisdom and guidance, looking earnestly and openly into His word and have developed my convictions from them.  I am still searching His Word, still praying and still learning.  I have found however, that the Holy Spirit always leads me into the truth and points me to Christ if I am willing to open my heart and mind to Him.  I will understand if I am not set on proving my  point instead of learning from Him.  Jesus Christ means everything to me.  I would be foolish to think I have learned it all or understand everything.  Yet, I have access to everything I need for this life here and Eternal Life in Jesus.  Therefore, I stand before God and man proclaiming my love and trust in Jesus Christ, for my life (my salvation) and my everything.  Without Him there would be no purpose for this life here on earth and no hope of a life everlasting.

Doug's Bio

Doug was born in rural South Dakota and raised during the 50's in a farming and small town environment. His favorite pastimes were music and friends. Not prone to being an athletic jock he spent school days pursuing drama, music and mechanical aspirations.

After high school he joined the US Air Force, discharged in 1974 and worked with industries and construction in the Quad-Cities area for a few years, then landed in Florida in the early 80's. There he helped build a New Testament Home Church.

Moving on to Texas he pursued technology as his career and started his own enterprise with computers and networking. He has been in technology with large to small endeavors spanning education, professional services, consulting and retail sales.

He is currently married with 6 sons and 2 grandchildren. He currently lives in a small Christian village in Selmer, TN dedicated to living the life of a disciple and missionary in the household of God. His wife Tara and 3 younger children live with him there.

Doug is involved in Rose Creek Village Ministries, doing the things he believes God has chosen himself and others to do, by sharing the love of God to people all over the world. The lifestyle of living there is one that aligns itself with the book of Acts for sharing all things in common and giving up their lives for one another in the love of God.
